This is a permanent position, no contractors please.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a business, systems, health care, science
or engineering discipline.

5-7 years of solid technical experience or 7 - 10 years of solid technical
experience in lieu of degree.
-
Technical depth in at least 3 of the following: NT server administration;
storage area networks, digital imaging, software/hardware integration;
remote access alternatives and WAN/LAN architectures.

Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze and test technology solutions.
-
Excellent communication skills. Health care experience especially in
Radiology and/or picture archival communications systems is a strong plus
but not required.

UNIX administration is also a strong plus.
-
This person must be a systems engineer - not only able to focus on
operations issues.

They must have a deep understanding of how systems work at the very core.
Responsibilities:
-
Develop/ revise technology architecture/ strategy on an annual basis.
-
Topics include, but are not limited to , network, security, Digital
Imaging Solutions, servers, storage, workstations, operating systems,
databases, middle ware, monitoring tools, etc. (Focus is on hardware
solutions, but not limited.)

Develop technical recommendations and solutions that support business
requirements and environments.
-
Provide 3rd and 4th level technical support to
Technology Services Group, Information Group and Imaging Group as needed and
requested.

Provide status reporting as requested.

Provide beeper support as requested.

Participate in meetings as needed.
-
Identify and understand business strategy, goals and constraints.
-
Coordinate with all relevant groups as needed.

Develop annual strategy/ plans for technology research, testing and
implementation.

Conduct research and tests of new emerging technology that is clearly
expected to provide value to business strategy.

Identify solutions that address enhancements to existing technical
infrastructure, as well as new technology solutions.

Assist in planning for and execution of pilots and other testing efforts.

Develop effective process and methodologies for conducting this work so
that there is high probability for success and for meeting target dates,
even during the research stage.

Assist in troubleshooting and resolution.

Provide knowledge transfer to other employees to maximize their
effectiveness for future similar problems.
